"C" for "Cannes"Croisette"," cinéma"

On Holidays.

In 1834, Cannes was just a little fishport discovered by chance by lord Brougham . This diplomat had to travel to Nice but he could not pass the transalpine frontier because of the Cholera. So he came back and stayed at Cannes. He enjoyed this place so that he built there a house, then he spent each winter , followed by the english gentry .Thus, Cannes became a smart and famous city well known for the international festival of Cinéma. Decorated walls recall famous movies. La Croisette -The name of this famous avenue comes from a little cross which stood at the end of the littoral path.
You can see and use Chairs and arm- chairs .
You can admire the hands of celebrities printed in the cement.(click )

  1. Ah, lovely! We just drove through Cannes on our way to somewhere else way back in '97 but would love to return one day.

By the way, tea is always available chez moi all day. :)

  7. I visited Cannes some years ago--on an ordinary day with nothing special going on--except just being Cannes. It was quite beautiful.

As to your question to me--patchwork is a part of quilting. Patchwork is the piecing together of shapes to make the pattern. Applique is another technique for making the design of the quilt--applying shapes to make a picture or an abstract. Technically, quilting is the putting of the layers together with stitches, but in the US and some other English speaking countries, it has become the word most popular for any part of the process.
