Saint Quentin -en- Yvelines, is a modern town created in1965 and realized in 1972, under Charles De Gaule 's government by Paul Delouvrier , which includes 7 cities

  1. My French is not up to all the details, but it is not often that we see new cities in Europe founded after WW2! But then you had the architect for it.

  2. There is something strange about brand new towns (in Europe, anyway). Like, where is the town's Old City? :)

  6. Cette ville a été construite sur de très riches terrains de culture, betterave, blé, petit pois, (Les conserves le trappiste étaient réputé, il y avait même une distillerie). J'ai habité en limitrophe jusqu'en 1995. Rigolo le mon du cultivateur débutait phonétiquement par « Q ».

  9. L'enfer est pavé de bonnes intentions.
    D'une très bonne idée on a fait des désastres. Peut être pas à St Quentin mais dans d'autres villes nouvelles devenues des ghettos.

  10. One of my teddy bears that I adopted is named Quentin.
    It is on his adoption certificate.
    I guess I should have used him for my ABC Wednesday letter Q post.

  14. This is a spectacular new town! I love the sculptural forms. I have nothing against new things in Europe or anywhere else, and wish I could see this one.
