



On Holidays.
In 1834,
Cannes was just a little fishport discovered by
chance by lord Brougham . This diplomat had to travel to Nice but he
could not pass the transalpine frontier because of the
Cholera. So he
came back and stayed at
Cannes. He enjoyed this place so that he built there a house, then he spent each winter , followed by the english gentry .Thus,
Cannes became a smart and famous
city well known for the international festival of
Cinéma. Decorated walls recall famous movies.
La Croisette -The name of this famous avenue
comes from a little
cross which stood at the end of the littoral path.
